Overview

Heavy-Duty A2L and WinOLS KP Map Pack is a collection of calibration definition files for heavy-duty and industrial ECU binaries. It combines A2L descriptions and WinOLS KP map packs to supply meaningful labels, axes and addresses for compatible calibration projects.

These are reference definitions, not ready-made tuned binaries. Match every definition to the exact software number and original-read memory layout before trusting or changing a map.

Heavy-duty definition folders for CAT 7CZ, Cummins, Detroit, Duramax, Ford, Navistar, New Holland, Paccar, Powerstroke and VolvoMack.

What This Resource Is For

Use the files to identify calibration areas, compare known definitions with an original ECU read and set up projects in WinOLS or another editor supporting the supplied formats. The package is useful when a binary contains many candidate tables and its ECU software family is already known.

Confirmed Functions

  • A2L definitions with CCP/XCP-style calibration descriptions where supplied.
  • WinOLS KP map packs containing named maps and axis information.
  • Coverage folders organized by manufacturer or controller family.
  • Reference material for comparison and map discovery, without automatic flashing or checksum correction.

Supported Controllers, Files and Vehicles

  • Cummins CM1881, CM2200 and CM2350 definition material.
  • Detroit MCM families across multiple calibration generations.
  • CAT 7CZ, Duramax L5D and Ford truck map packs.
  • Navistar Bosch EDC17CV42 and related definitions.
  • PACCAR/DAF, Peterbilt, New Holland, Volvo/Mack and Freightliner-oriented files.
  • Exact compatibility depends on software number and binary structure, rather than truck make or engine name alone.

Package Contents

  • Twenty-eight primary definition files grouped in manufacturer folders.
  • A mixture of A2L, KP and one OLS-associated definition.
  • An embedded Navistar definition archive documented as opened, tested and extracted during package review, rather than left as an unchecked link wrapper.

The illustrated folder groups are CAT 7CZ Mappack, Cummins A2L, Detroit A2L, Duramax Mappacks, Ford Mappacks, Navistar Mappack, New Holland, Paccar mappacks, Powerstroke Mappacks and VolvoMack Mappacks.

System and Interface Requirements

  • A Windows workstation with WinOLS or another compatible calibration editor.
  • An original ECU read with verified checksum and known hardware and software identifiers.
  • Enough storage for working copies and comparison projects; the definition collection is described as modest in size, with no exact byte count specified.
  • No vehicle interface is needed to inspect the definitions. Reading or writing an ECU requires a suitable separate programmer.

Recommended Workshop Workflow

  1. Record the ECU hardware number, software number and read method before starting the project.
  2. Create a read-only original-binary backup and import only a definition closely matching that identity.
  3. Validate several known maps, axes and limit values before accepting a match.
  4. Work in a separate project, correct checksums with an appropriate method and compare the output with the untouched original.

Compatibility Limits and Responsible Use

  • A map pack for a similar engine does not establish compatibility.
  • Map addresses can shift between software revisions even within the same ECU hardware family.
  • The package supplies no automatic tuning strategy, emissions solution or safe torque target.
  • Do not program a file solely because WinOLS imported the definition without errors.

Troubleshooting

  • Implausible values or axes: stop and verify byte order, file size and software identity.
  • KP import missing maps: check that the project binary begins at the expected address.
  • Similar-looking definitions: compare software identifiers and hashes instead of selecting by filename alone.

File Integrity and Safety Notes

Package documentation reports complete archive testing and extraction, opening nested containers where present, and static inspection without launching executable files. These are documented preparation claims, not an independent ECUDB editor-import, calibration or programming test. This entry concerns definition files.

Preserve original ECU and module reads and work on copies. Verify output size and checksum requirements, and provide stable power and a proven recovery method before any subsequent ECU write.

Archive inspection alone does not establish that a package or accompanying unsigned executable is malware-free. Use a dedicated analysis environment and current security tools.
