Overview
HP Tuners ECU Unlocker is an offline file utility for preparing supported locked controller reads for an HP Tuners-oriented calibration workflow. Select a controller profile, load its corresponding read and create an unlocked working file for the intended editor.
The application does not connect to a vehicle. The visible selections include Chrysler/FCA GPEC generations, selected GM engine and transmission controllers and a Bosch diesel controller. A listed profile does not establish compatibility with every hardware or software revision.

What This Resource Is For
Use the application only with a complete read from the intended controller and after establishing ownership and authorization. It modifies file data; bench unlocking, boot access, physical module work and subsequent flashing remain separate operations.
Confirmed Functions
- Select a controller profile before opening a file.
- Process a supported locked ECU or TCM read offline.
- Use a browse-and-unlock workflow intended to produce an editor-compatible working file.
- Consult the bundled installation video for the application and supplied license helper.
Supported Controllers, Files and Vehicles
- GPEC2 and GPEC2A: the visible selections are GPEC2, GPEC2A 2015+ and GPEC2A 2019+.
- GPEC3 and GPEC4.
- E42 and E66 engine-controller profiles.
- T87A and T93 transmission-controller profiles.
- Bosch MD1CP062.
- Verify coverage against the controller hardware number, software number and read size.
Package Contents
- The main ECU unlocker application.
- A license helper supplied with the distribution.
- An installation and workflow video.
- Two executables documented as unsigned and inspected statically only, without a malware-free claim.
System and Interface Requirements
- A Windows workstation or isolated Windows virtual machine.
- A complete, correct controller read obtained using suitable hardware.
- HP Tuners or another appropriate editor for the later calibration stage.
- A proven recovery method capable of restoring original controller data if the processed file is rejected.
Recommended Workshop Workflow
- Identify the module from its label and diagnostic information before reading.
- Create an immutable backup through a supported bench, boot or service method and record its hash.
- Select the exact controller profile and process only a working copy.
- Compare the generated file with the original and check that changes are confined to the expected lock area.
- Open the result in the intended editor and follow a proven programming procedure with stable power.
Compatibility Limits and Responsible Use
- The utility does not physically unlock a module or replace a required bench-service step.
- An incorrect profile can corrupt a valid read even when the file size appears plausible.
- Online licensing, credits and hardware support remain separate from this offline package.
- Do not infer vehicle compatibility solely from make, model or model year.
Troubleshooting
- File rejected: confirm it is a full read rather than a calibration-only segment.
- Editor still reports a locked file: verify that the selected module generation is correct.
- Write failure: stop and recover using the original file and the programmer vendor's documented method.
File Integrity and Safety Notes
Package documentation reports complete archive testing and extraction, inspection of nested containers where present, and static inspection of executable files without launching them. These are documented package-review claims, not independent executable or vehicle tests by ECUDB.
Keep original ECU and module reads immutable and work on copies. Check output size and checksum requirements. Before writing with separate programming equipment, maintain stable power and retain a proven recovery method.
An unsigned executable should not be assumed malware-free. Use a dedicated analysis environment and your own current security tools.
