VERSION 2.6

MB Truck Explorer - Heavy-Vehicle ECU and Key Service Software 2.6

Legacy Windows heavy-vehicle service software for compatible VEI hardware, with licensed MR/PLD memory, key, VeDoc, FDOK, DAS and fault-code functions.

Overview

MB Truck Explorer is legacy AutoVEI software for specialized electronic service on supported heavy vehicles. Used with compatible VEI hardware, the correct cables and licensed functions, it provides selected ECU memory operations, key and immobilizer services, protected-code calculations and diagnostic fault functions.

The workspace includes MR memory, Keys, VeDoc, FDOK, DAS passwords, Extra, Fault codes and Settings. This is not a generic J1939 scanner: the installer alone cannot service a vehicle without the required interface, activation and module license.

MB Truck Explorer interface with MR memory, Keys, VeDoc, FDOK, DAS passwords and Fault codes tabs, showing an empty diagnostic workspace.

Functions Represented in the Interface

  • Detect supported control units through the connected interface.
  • Read and erase diagnostic fault codes on ECUs covered by the active license.
  • Service supported MR or PLD controller memory.
  • Perform supported truck key and immobilizer service operations.
  • Use VeDoc code-calculation fields.
  • Access FDOK protected-parameter calculations.
  • Work with the DAS password workflow.
  • Access additional truck-service operations available to the licensed hardware profile.

Visible tabs indicate platform capabilities, not functions supplied with every device. Availability depends on the VEI generation and purchased licenses. Check device type, activation and subscription status when a tab or operation is unavailable before reinstalling.

Vehicle and Controller Scope

Legacy coverage references include Mercedes-Benz and MAZ trucks and buses, selected MAN, Scania and Volvo applications and Claas industrial or agricultural equipment, subject to the hardware and license combination.

Mercedes truck applications commonly involve MR / PLD engine controllers, FR / CPC functions and protected service calculations. A listed manufacturer does not imply support for every vehicle year or ECU. Hardware generations, cables, microcontrollers and software versions change coverage. Confirm the exact vehicle, controller, license and connection procedure against AutoVEI documentation before connecting.

Hardware, License and System Requirements

  • Genuine VEI hardware from a generation compatible with the installed software.
  • The correct OBD or DirectConnect cable for the target ECU and operation.
  • Valid activation and the specific licenses needed for the intended function.
  • A Windows workshop computer. Vendor driver/software-family references span legacy and modern Windows versions; exact compatibility must be checked for this release and interface.
  • Stable power support appropriate to the vehicle's 12-volt or 24-volt system.
  • Reliable internet access where activation, account or support functions require it.
  • Relevant service documentation and an established recovery method before memory work.

The documented installer is a 32-bit Windows package. Newer AutoVEI devices use newer Truck Explorer releases, while older VEI interfaces require their compatible software generation. Consult the vendor before updating or mixing generations.

Recommended Diagnostic Workflow

  1. Identify the truck, controller and network voltage; record existing fault codes.
  2. Verify the VEI interface, cable and license for the exact operation.
  3. Establish stable power before memory, key or protected-parameter work.
  4. Run Detect control units and confirm the returned ECU identification.
  5. Back up original data before writing memory or changing security-related information.
  6. Carry out one documented operation at a time and retain the session log.
  7. Cycle vehicle power only when the service procedure instructs it.
  8. Read faults again and verify engine, immobilizer and communication operation.

Memory and Key-Service Cautions

An incorrect protocol, supply voltage or module generation during flash, EEPROM or key work can corrupt a controller or immobilize the truck. A similar vehicle profile is not a substitute for the correct ECU selection. Verify ownership and preserve all available original keys before key-service work.

VeDoc, FDOK and DAS calculations are security-related service functions intended for authorized repair. Keep challenge codes, passwords, key data and customer identifiers private.

Troubleshooting

  • Interface not detected: check the VEI driver, USB connection, device generation, license status and vehicle-side supply.
  • ECU not found: verify the cable and direct-connect pinout before changing the software installation.
  • Licensed function missing: compare the device account and supported-release matrix; an unavailable function does not necessarily indicate an incomplete installer.

Package and Safety Notes

The package documentation describes an original AutoVEI installer extracted from a tested archive, with embedded metadata identifying the product and supplied release. It also reports that the executable is unsigned and was reviewed statically without being run. These are documented package observations, not an independent ECUDB binary test.

Use an environment supported by the vendor and perform your own local security scan before use.
