Overview
Efisio Checksum Corrector is a modular Windows utility for checking checksum data and saving corrected copies of supported engine-control binary files. Controller-specific DLL drivers handle recognized structures rather than applying one generic checksum formula. The workspace displays the filename, exact byte length, selected checksum driver and available check/save actions.
It serves as an integrity stage after a controlled calibration repair or binary edit. An entry in the installed-driver list does not establish support for every software revision: binary layout, read type and controller software identification must match.

Efisio checksum workspace with installed drivers and the original empty filename, length and checksum-driver fields.
What This Resource Is For
Check recognized checksum regions after a technically understood modification, before passing the working file to a programmer. This is an offline binary utility: it does not identify a vehicle, read an ECU over OBD or establish that the calibration change itself is correct.
Confirmed Functions
- Load an ECU binary and display its exact byte length.
- Select or detect an installed controller-specific checksum driver.
- Check structures recognized by the selected driver module.
- Save a corrected working copy following successful validation.
- Keep the modular checksum DLL library alongside the main application.
- Support repeatable original-versus-output comparison in the workshop process.
Supported Vehicles, Controllers and Files
- BMW: visible entries include EDC16 diesel and Siemens MSS52.
- Opel: Bosch ME1.5.5, M1.5.5 and Siemens Simtec families.
- Ferrari: Marelli and Bosch ME7.3 families are documented.
- Porsche: Bosch ME7.8; a Bosch Valvetronic ME9 driver also appears in the list.
- Citroën and Audi: Delphi DCI and Audi M3.x / M5.x entries.
- Further entries: Maserati ME7.3.1, Alfa JTS MED7.1.1, VAG pump-injector and Siemens 5WP4.
- Coverage limit: support is driver- and software-revision-specific. Verify detection against the exact untouched read.
Package Contents
- Main native checksum-correction application.
- Extensive controller-driver DLL library supplied with the program.
- Legacy FTDI driver components retained in the original package.
- Supplied registration/configuration data.
- Four interface previews: the main driver view above and three additional views below.
- The package-preparation notes describe executable/DLL hash recording and static inspection without launching the program; no independent ECUDB binary test is claimed.
System, Hardware and Interface Requirements
- Isolated Windows workstation; a legacy 32-bit environment may be needed, but exact Windows versions are unspecified.
- Known-good full or calibration read from the exact ECU.
- Binary comparison software and a programmer suitable for that controller.
- Space for separate untouched original, working and corrected files.
- Administrator rights may be needed for legacy components; install old drivers only when genuinely required.
Recommended Workshop Workflow
- Record vehicle and controller identification, hardware/software numbers and the communication method.
- Where practical, read the original twice, compare hashes and store an untouched copy outside the working folder.
- Match the file type, segment, exact length and ECU family to the intended driver/function.
- Perform one documented operation on a working copy and inspect every changed region before saving.
- Reopen or recheck the output and validate it with the intended programmer or diagnostic platform before writing.
- For subsequent bench/vehicle work, use regulated power and finish with identification and a full fault scan.
Compatibility Limits and Responsible Use
- Opening a file successfully does not establish compatibility with the target controller, vehicle or hardware revision.
- Keep a verified original and compare byte lengths, identifiers and modified regions before writing.
- Security, identity, emissions and anti-theft functions require authorization to service the property and a lawful intended change.
- The utility does not replace OEM information, stable power, a compatible interface or a tested recovery path.
- Isolate and independently check unsigned legacy executables; no malware-free certification is claimed.
Troubleshooting
- File rejected: verify full-read versus calibration-read format, exact byte length, ECU family and software revision.
- Unchanged output: check whether the expected signature or supported data structure is present.
- Unexpectedly large changes: stop, compare against the untouched read and do not flash an unexplained result.
- Vehicle communication failure: diagnose power, grounds, ignition state, interface driver and bus wiring separately from offline file processing.
- No recovery after writing: use the documented bench/boot recovery procedure to restore the exact original.
File Integrity and Safety Notes
The package-preparation notes describe testing and extracting the archive, enumerating executables, libraries and nested containers, and inspecting them statically without running the automotive application. These are attributed preparation claims, not tests performed by ECUDB.
Preserve original hashes and backups, process working copies, independently check legacy or unsigned binaries and maintain a verified recovery route before writing a controller or changing live equipment.
Additional Interface Previews
These three views show further positions in the installed-driver list. Filename, length and checksum-driver fields remain empty; they do not demonstrate a successful correction.

Additional installed drivers including MCC Smart, Volvo, VAG, Opel, Renault/Peugeot/Citroën, Audi, BMW and Nissan entries.

Further driver entries including Siemens Volvo, BMW MS42/MS43, PSA HDi, Renault, Mercedes, Alfa/Fiat, Delphi, Opel, GM, Mini and Temic.

Another driver-list position with the Check, Save, Load and Exit controls visible.
